Using SVT-AV1-PSY

While we distribute raw binaries through our GitHub releases, there are a couple of other ways to use SVT-AV1-PSY that may be more convenient if you aren't familiar with the command line and would just like to encode videos:

  • Aviator (Linux): Aviator is designed to be a no-frills, easy-to-use AV1 encoding GUI that any beginner can pick up and immediately understand how to use. It is powered by SVT-AV1-PSY, and is available as a Flatpak on Linux.
  • StaxRip (Windows): StaxRip is a powerful video and audio encoding GUI for intermediate to advanced users. Its AV1 encoding features are enabled by SVT-AV1-PSY, and it is available on Windows
  • Av1ador (Windows): Av1ador is an AV1/HEVC/VP9/H.264 parallel encoder GUI for FFmpeg with preview/comparison while transcoding. Its AV1 encoding features are enabled by SVT-AV1-PSY, and it is available on Windows
  • Handbrake Fork (multi-platform): Handbrake is a popular video encoding GUI that is available across Windows, macOS, and Linux. This fork of Handbrake adds SVT-AV1-PSY support to the application.
  • AUR: SVT-AV1-PSY is available in the AUR on Arch Linux as svt-av1-psy-git.
  • Brew: SVT-AV1-PSY is available via Homebrew on macOS. You can install it by running brew install gianni-rosato/svt-av1-psy/svt-av1-psy.
